It is the kinda car that could be parked out front of a valet and outclass anything beside it

I got to climb in one once because it is a coach door entering into the car isn't that hard

Even the replicas command a high price. This one’s going for $55k:

The reason the ‘61 Lincoln has suicide doors is actually because it was harder to get in and out of the back after they shrunk it. The ‘58-’60 had better back seat access without the need for tricks.

They choose it for practicality and it became iconic for style. Can't beat that.

Good enough to put on a Thunderbird, even. I believe the Hupmobiles largely had reverse-swing doors for the front seats and normal swing for the back, with the rear doors large enough they didn’t need to be reversed, but the front ones reversed to be even better.

Definitely go with the Glenn Pray car, which is the Rolls Royce of replicas or “second generation” cars. He has an interesting story, too. The one at top is a bit too dear.

That's really strange. You think the doors would ding together on accident

I’m guessing they probably have a leather checkstrap, but I don’t feel like looking up Hupmobile interior pics to make sure.
